Let Your Words Heal

“A compliment is something like a kiss through a veil.”- Victor Hugo

Quite often, it takes but a few words of appreciation to make someone else’s day. Just a few words. Simple words that uplift the soul. Words that seem to say, “You are noticed. You matter. You are here and someone is thankful that you are.”

We don’t need to flatter anyone, we only need to tell the truth. Yet why is it that when we say we should tell the truth, we often tell the truth only when it hurts? Is there not much truth also that is beautiful but often left unsaid?

A single word can heal or break someone’s heart. How often do we utter words that heal?

“Because even the smallest of words can be the ones to hurt you, or save you.” – Natsuki Takaya

Gracious words are a honeycomb, sweet to the soul and healing to the bones. -Proverbs 16:24, NIV
